On 14 July, our English Club organized different activities for the Students.
SPEECH COMPETITION was conducted for classes XI and XII. For class XII the topic for the competition was “ORGAN DONATION AFTER DEATH”. From each section four students from each houses were selected. The participants were able to convince to donate the organs after death as they are of no use after death and it could be life saving for someone else and also the need for organ donation needs to be sensitized among the public to increase the number of doners.
For class XI the topic was “TECHNOLOGY IS KILLING OUR PRODUCTIVITY”. The contenders explained that in this modern world, we are becoming machine dependent and hence don’t use our mind. Thus resulting in killing our creativity and productivity.
EXTEMPORE COMPETITION was conducted for classes IX and X. The topics were given on the spot to the participants. It was to test their ability to express in good words and in a framed manner within a limited time.
POSTER MAKING COMPETITION was held for VI to VIII. To bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness. The themes taken up for the competition were:
PATRIOTISM – LOVE FOR NATION for Grade VIII
BENEFITS OF YOGA for Grade VII
EATING HABITS for Grade VI
The students displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters on the given topics.
STORY TELLING COMPETITION was held for classes III to V to enhance the confidence and speaking skills of the students. The participants narrated the moral based stories. These young story tellers used a variety of props to make their stories interesting and expressive. Each story concluded with moral highlighting different values of life.
POEM RECITATION COMPETITION was held for classes I and II.
By conducting all these activities, children got an opportunity to exhibit their talents and confidence.They were intended to give an opportunity to the students to shake off their diffidence and to build up their self confidence.
